Colgate-Palmolive began in 1806 as a starch, soap, and candle company, and is now known for its leading product, Colgate toothpaste, which was introduced in 1863. Colgate was the first to package toothpaste in the familiar collapsible tube in 1896. Colgate has produced consistently effective toothpaste for more than 150 years.
